Gisborne Wine Tasting Cellar DoorOur Cellar Door is open October to May,  from 11.00 AM until 6.00 PM, and otherwise by appointment.

The Bridge Estate Stables are  probably one of the most unusual venues for wine tasting in the country.  The 120 year old Stables come complete with rusty nails, an old Cow-Bail... and plenty of dust.

But despite the antiquity the Tasting Room works just fine (we put a shield over the bar so the 120 year old dust doesnt fall in your drink) and the adjoining Long Room with its 18 seat table has already witnessed some fine banquets.

We are open from October to the end of May from  11.00 - 6.00 seven days a week, so there is no excuse for not calling in.

Gisborne Wine Tasting Cellar DoorEach day we offer some fine food to accompany the wines... currently we offer three plates (not platters, we hate platters, with everything from mussels to cheese all touching each other - yuck) including a Potted Shrimp with cold smoked Salmon, acocmpanied with Dill Sour Cream and Pink Salt Toasts.... or the Duck Liver and Charcuterie plate with Proscuitto, Sopressa Salami, Cornichons and our increasingly famous House Green Pickle, with French  or Rye Bread... or the Three Cheeses - varying from Blue Brie to Camenbert to 36 months aged Cheddar, with crackers and fruit and nuts.

One Sunday each month we offer the Sunday Long Lunch - good country food, varying by the season (This month was Eggplants and Spinach because they looked so good at the Saturday Market)  but normally a decent amount of Red Meat,  Smoked Salmon, and of course Potatoes done any one of six different ways (not all at once) and plenty of fresh salads. Patrons generally arrive by 12.30 and leave around 5.30 -6.00 PM (depending on our licence hours of course).
